Verified from FlooringFX specs posts + LifeProof colors reference · eras approximate · last updated 2026-10-28
LifeProof and TrafficMaster vinyl look similar in aisle photos, but thickness and wear layer decide whether a leftover plank can repair an existing floor. This page consolidates verified numbers from FlooringFX product posts and the LifeProof colors reference. It is a matching cheat sheet, not a store catalog. Model strings stay plain text.

Quick rules before you buy leftovers
Thickness ≠ wear layer
Total plank height is in millimeters (mm). Wear layer is in mils. A Home Depot Q&A on Seasoned Wood mixed “6 mil” with “6.5 mm.” They are different measurements on the same carton.
Same color name, different build
Fresh Oak exists as I96711L (6 mil) and I96711LP (22 mil). Do not mix those in one continuous field.
Locking profile first
GripStrip adhesive-edge Allure will not lock into click LifeProof. Allure Ultra click (5.0 mm / 12 mil) will not auto-match a 6.5 mm LifeProof rigid core.
Read the carton end
Use the carton-end label decoder for brand strip, model, thickness, wear layer, and dye lot. Photograph the whole panel.

| Brand / line | Example color / model | Thickness | Wear layer | Notes | FlooringFX |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| LifeProof (rigid / multi-width) | Seasoned Wood I114813L (aliases Harrison Pine Dark / Augusta Wood on older labeling) |
6.5 mm overall | 6 mil | 6 mil rigid-core value line. FlooringFX notes a 4.0 mm rigid extruded vinyl core + 1.5 mm top layer + 1.0 mm pre-attached underlayment on the technical data sheet path. Orphan / discontinued listing path in FlooringFX archives. | Seasoned Wood specs; LifeProof colors |
| LifeProof | Fresh Oak I96711L |
~7 mm (HD title path) | 6 mil | Same color name as the 22 mil SKU below. About 8.7 in. × 47.6 in., ~20.1 sq. ft./case on FlooringFX color notes. Straight-edge / click details must be confirmed on the carton. | LifeProof colors |
| LifeProof | Fresh Oak I96711LP |
~7 mm (HD title path) | 22 mil | Model strings for thicker wear layers often end in LP. Do not treat as interchangeable with I96711L. |
LifeProof colors |
| LifeProof | Sterling Oak I966106LP |
Confirm on carton | 22 mil | Current-era example used in FlooringFX brand history notes. Width/length examples on that page are about 8.7 in. × 48 in. class; verify before ordering leftovers. | Who makes LifeProof |
| LifeProof | Dusk Cherry I06204LP |
Confirm on carton | 22 mil | Second current-era example from the same FlooringFX brand notes (~8.7 in. × 48 in. class). | Who makes LifeProof |
| LifeProof (other lines) | Various | Often ~6.5–8 mm class | 12 mil · 22 mil · 30 mil also appear in FlooringFX notes | FlooringFX comparison and color pages note 12, 22, and 30 mil LifeProof lines exist. Always read the wear-layer print on the carton end; do not infer from color name alone. | TrafficMaster vs LifeProof |
| TrafficMaster Allure Ultra (click LVT) | Allure Ultra line | 5.0 mm (0.197 in.) | 12 mil (0.3 mm) urethane with ceramic bead | About 7.5 in. × 47.6 in., square edge, floating click, no attached pad on FlooringFX Allure Ultra specs. Not a LifeProof rigid-core match. | Allure Ultra specs |
| TrafficMaster Allure GripStrip | Reduced HD GripStrip range | Thin LVT (confirm carton) | 4 mil on current HD category example used in FlooringFX notes | Adhesive-edge GripStrip, not click lock. Will not lock into LifeProof click or Allure Ultra click. | What replaced Allure |
| TrafficMaster Allure (older reviews) | Example older planks cited in FlooringFX comparison | ~3.8 mm to ~4.4 mm in published review examples | 4 mil to 6 mil in those examples; some listings show 12 mil | FlooringFX vs page cites older Allure measures around 3.8 mm / 4 mil and a Winding Brook review plank at 4.4 mm / 6 mil. Carton label is the only reliable source for a specific leftover box. | TrafficMaster vs LifeProof |
Will they mix? Usually not in the same continuous field. Thickness and locking profiles differ, so joints fail or lips show. Compare brand strip, model string, total thickness (with and without pad), wear layer, and edge type before buying. When unsure, post carton photos on the Match board.
Model-string patterns that help ID
| Pattern | What it often means | Caveat |
|---|---|---|
LifeProof codes ending in L (example I114813L, I96711L) |
Common on 6 mil / value-line carton paths in FlooringFX notes | Not a guarantee. Read the printed wear layer. |
LifeProof codes ending in LP (example I96711LP, I966106LP, I06204LP) |
Often thicker wear-layer SKUs (22 mil examples above) | Same color name can exist in both L and LP forms. |
| Allure Ultra technical gauge 5.0 mm / 12 mil | Click LVT generation described on FlooringFX Allure Ultra post | Do not assume every “Allure” box is Ultra; GripStrip is a different system. |
| Rename path: Harrison Pine Dark / Augusta Wood → Seasoned Wood | Older Allure ISOCORE / LifeProof labeling for the same visual path tied to I114813L |
Confirm model + wear layer; rename alone is not a lock guarantee across dye lots. |
