Which number is which

TrafficMaster is a Home Depot house brand. Different factories made it over the years, so the carton layout changes from line to line. What stays the same is the set of store numbers Home Depot uses, and the model string printed beside the color name.

What Home Depot shows online

A current homedepot.com product page lists the Model # and the Internet # near the product title, and shoppers quote the store SKU in the questions on the same page. For a discontinued TrafficMaster color the page is often gone, so the carton end and your receipt are the record. Write the model string as printed and keep any hyphens.

There is no TrafficMaster document to quote here. Home Depot’s LifeProof instructions say to check “the pattern, color and batch numbers on the carton” and to blend planks from several boxes, and that is sensible for any laminate repair. How to read it, step by step

Find the color name
On the label, the color name sits beside the model string. Copy both.
Separate the store numbers
A 3-3 hyphenated number (610-300) or a 10-digit number is the store SKU. A 12-digit number under the barcode is the UPC.
Check the line
Original, Dimensions, Allure and Hampton are different products, even when the color name matches.
Photograph the end panel
Shoot the whole label in daylight before you post it on Match.

Questions about TrafficMaster cartons

My box says MR0004. Is that the same as MRO004?

Yes. Readers often type a zero for the letter O. The carton string for Medium Red Oak is MRO004.

Is the UPC the same as the SKU?

No. The UPC is the 12-digit barcode number. The store SKU is Home Depot’s stock number, and the Internet # is its web catalog number.

Why does my color have two SKUs?

Home Depot renumbered some products, and some colors came in more than one size. Sarasota Oak shows up as both 627671 and 851-334 in reader comments. Match the plank, not just the number.
