Warm honey-toned oak laminate plank floor in a hallway

TrafficMaster Hampton Honey Oak Laminate: Identification

TrafficMaster Hampton Honey Oak is a discontinued glueless laminate floor that was sold through The Home Depot. It has a light, honey-toned oak visual, and its UPC (765894165180) is registered to Shaw Industries, the manufacturer behind several older TrafficMaster laminates. The pattern is no longer stocked, so repairs and additions usually depend on leftover boxes from private sellers or on a close substitute.

About TrafficMaster Hampton Honey Oak

Hampton Honey Oak belonged to the “Hampton” group of TrafficMaster glueless laminates. A related pattern, Hampton Classic Oak, carries the neighboring UPC 765894165173 under the same Shaw registration. Box and listing references for Hampton patterns include numbers such as HD015, #00203 and 0062U, which appear to vary across production runs.

Published specifications for the original product are scarce. Detailed thickness and plank-size data could not be confirmed from a primary source, so measuring an existing plank is the safest way to check dimensions before buying replacement stock.

Not to be confused with similar names

Several current or recent products share part of the name, which causes confusion when searching.

TrafficMaster Hampton Oak (8 mm)

A later laminate sold as TrafficMaster Hampton Oak is listed at 8 mm thick, 7.6 in. wide and 54.45 in. long, with an AC3 rating and an angle/angle locking system. It is described as light beige and tan, and its listings state it is made in Europe. Its size and locking profile differ from older Shaw-made Hampton planks, so it should not be assumed to fit an existing Hampton Honey Oak floor.

TrafficMaster Honey Oak peel-and-stick vinyl

Home Depot also sells TrafficMaster Honey Oak peel-and-stick vinyl plank, model HP0431N. It is 2 mm thick and 6 in. by 36 in. with a 4 mil wear layer. It is a vinyl product and cannot be combined with laminate in the same continuous floor.

Identifying Hampton Honey Oak on an existing floor

A leftover carton is the most reliable evidence. The UPC or any of the Hampton reference numbers on the end panel can be compared against a seller’s box. Without packaging, measure the width, length and thickness of a loose plank and photograph the tongue and groove. Honey-toned oak was a common look in entry-level laminate, so color by itself does not confirm a match.

Finding leftover stock

Hampton Honey Oak shipped in large volumes, and owners still post spare boxes in online comment threads, classified ads and marketplaces. Search for both “Hampton Honey Oak” and “TrafficMaster honey oak laminate”, since sellers often shorten the name. Ask for a photo of the box end panel before paying, and check the shade against your floor in daylight once a box arrives.

Options when no match is available

If exact stock cannot be found, common approaches are moving planks from a closet into the damaged area, starting a new floor at a doorway transition, or replacing a single room. These are covered in more detail in our article on matching discontinued laminate and vinyl plank. Frequently asked questions

Is TrafficMaster Hampton Honey Oak discontinued?

Yes. It is no longer sold by Home Depot, and current Home Depot “Honey Oak” results point to an unrelated peel-and-stick vinyl product.

Who makes TrafficMaster laminate flooring?

TrafficMaster is a Home Depot brand produced by outside manufacturers. The UPC for Hampton Honey Oak is registered to Shaw Industries. Newer TrafficMaster laminates have come from other suppliers, including European mills.

Is TrafficMaster laminate flooring waterproof?

Older glueless laminates such as Hampton Honey Oak have a wood-fiber core and were not sold as waterproof. Water left on the surface can swell the plank edges. Water resistance on newer products varies by line and is stated on the product label.

Can Hampton Oak 8 mm planks replace Hampton Honey Oak?

Not reliably. The 8 mm Hampton Oak uses a different thickness, plank size and locking system, so it is unlikely to lock into an older Hampton Honey Oak floor.
