# Privacy Policy Effective date: November 3, 2026 FlooringFX is a free help site for people trying to match discontinued or hard-to-find flooring. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what we do with it. In this policy, "FlooringFX", "we" and "us" mean the people who run flooringfx.com. ## What we collect **Questions and comments.** When you post a question or comment, we collect your display name, your message, your email address, and any details you choose to add (brand, color or SKU, whether you need or have flooring, square footage and ZIP code). We use your email only to tell you about replies or matches and to confirm your post; it is never shown publicly. We also record your IP address with the post to stop spam and abuse. New comments are held for review before they appear. **"Need" and "Have" match posts.** When you post flooring you need or have, we collect what you describe (type, brand, line, color or SKU, size, number of boxes, condition, material and notes), your ZIP code and your email address. We also record your IP address for spam limits. **What is public.** Your display name, message and flooring details can appear on the site. Your email address is never shown publicly. Your ZIP code is not shown in full: pages show a town name or a 3-digit ZIP area (for example "ZIP 328xx area") so people can judge distance. Our public listings feed (`/api/listings.json`) includes only the flooring details and the 3-digit ZIP area and region, never email addresses. **Spam protection.** Our forms use Cloudflare Turnstile to tell people from bots. Turnstile may process your IP address and browser signals; see [Cloudflare's Turnstile privacy addendum](https://www.cloudflare.com/turnstile-privacy-policy/). We also count submissions per IP address per day to limit abuse. **Emails we send.** Confirmation, reply and match emails are sent through our email provider, Resend, which processes the recipient address and message content to deliver them. Email sent to an @flooringfx.com address is forwarded by Cloudflare Email Routing to our team inbox. **Hosting and security (Cloudflare).** The site runs on Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes standard request data (IP address, browser type, the page requested, time) to deliver pages and block abuse. See [Cloudflare's privacy policy](https://www.cloudflare.com/privacypolicy/). **Analytics (Cloudflare Web Analytics).** We count visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics, a small script Cloudflare adds to our pages. It does not set cookies, does not use local storage, and does not build a profile of you across sites. We see totals such as page views, referring sites, countries and device types, not individual visitors. ## Cookies We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. The only cookie we set is a login cookie for site administrators, used only on our admin pages. Visitors who are not administrators receive no cookies from us. ## How we use information To show your post and connect you with people who need or have the same flooring; to email you about replies, matches and post confirmations (including links to confirm or close your post); to moderate and stop spam; and to keep the site running and secure. ## What we share - **We never sell your personal details** (your name, email address, IP address or full ZIP code). - If you reply to a match or someone replies to yours, we pass along what is needed to connect you, such as your message, through our email relay. - We use service providers to run the site: Cloudflare (hosting, security, Turnstile, analytics, email forwarding) and Resend (sending email). They process data only to provide those services. - We may share or sell **anonymous, aggregated** information that cannot identify you, such as counts of discontinued colors people are looking for by region. - We may disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect the site and its users from fraud or abuse. - If FlooringFX is sold or transferred to a new owner, the site's data (including posts and contact details) would transfer with it, and this policy would continue to apply to it. ## Affiliate links and advertising FlooringFX does not show ads and does not use affiliate links today. If that changes, we will label sponsored links and update this policy and our [affiliate disclosure](https://flooringfx.com/affiliate-disclosure/) first. ## Search engines, AI tools and machine-readable copies Our public pages may also be published as plain-text or Markdown copies (for example `llms.txt` or a `.md` version of a page) so search engines and AI assistants can read them. These copies contain the same public content as the pages and never contain visitor data or anything you send us. Our `robots.txt` file says which automated crawlers may read the site. ## How long we keep information Public posts stay up until they are closed, removed by you on request, or removed by us. Contact emails stay with a post while it is open and for as long as we need them to deliver replies and matches. IP addresses and per-day counters are kept only as long as we need them to stop abuse. Ask us at any time to delete a post or your email address. ## Your choices and rights Depending on where you live (including California under the CCPA/CPRA), you may have the right to ask what personal information we hold about you, to get a copy, to correct it, or to have it deleted. We do not sell or share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, as those terms are defined in the CCPA. Email us at the address below to make a request. We will confirm the request came from you (usually by replying from the same email address) and answer within 45 days. We will not treat you differently for using these rights. ## Children This site is for adults and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us information, email us and we will delete it. ## Security Data is stored on Cloudflare's infrastructure and sent over HTTPS. No system is perfectly secure, so please do not post anything you would not want public, and never send payment card numbers or passwords. ## Changes to this policy If our practices change, we will update this page and its effective date first. ## Contact Questions or privacy requests: (email hidden). --- Source: https://flooringfx.com/privacy-policy/ FlooringFX (https://flooringfx.com/) is a free help site for finding discontinued hard-surface flooring matches.
