Laminate like anything comes in many different brands. Pergo is the most popular name, but is it a better quality laminate? We have used a few brands of laminate. What we find is that you pay for what you get. You can pay for the Pergo name and get decent quality laminate. You can also get whatever is on sale and get bad laminate that has edges that break easily.

Here is what we do when purchasing laminate. We look for the best price for the best quality and go for it. Thickness is important. If the laminate you are looking at is packaged up, open it up, or have the store open it up for you. Feel it, does it feel sturdy? Compare it to your other choices. Look at the warranties. They do vary but for the most part are similar.

Narrow it down to what feel the best, and then find what looks the best to you. This is what is important. You are most likely redoing your floors with laminate because you want it to look great. So this is HUGE. Don’t get laminate that you can’t stand to look at. Get a laminate that is great looking to you. Chances are if the laminate looks good to you than that is the one you should get.
