I am installing a Dupont laminate floor that has the padding / insulation (foam) already attached to the bottom of the floor boards. Do I still need to lay down a plastic vapor barrier? Let me add that it is being installed over a vinyl tile floor that was installed on a concrete slab.
It would be a wise decision the padding will not give you the vapor barrier you need. You could go with the cheapest vapor barrier you can find if money is an issue.
With this floor lasting 20 years or more I always recommend doing it the best way possible.
Is this the first floor you have installed? How has it gone?

We have installed the trafficmaster allure flooring back in April. Soon afterwards we started seeing areas where the
seams were lifting. We have tried reapplying pressure, even using a 100# roller, but still the seams lift. It seems like
the installation instructions provided as well as product description and recommendation for use are not very thorough,
and leave the consumer vulnerable regarding the warranty. NOT A HAPPY CUSTOMER!! Would NOT recommend this product.
Had Home Depot install Trafficmaster Allure flooring over 1,000 SF of floor space in November. Right away, the seams started lifting. Rented a roller and rolled entire floor. 2 days later the seams lifted again. Complained to HD. They sent a worker who glued areas of the lifted seams and rolled it down again. Two days later areas of the seams that were not glued down were lifting again. I have demanded a full refund from HD as this is an obviously defective product.
