We just purchased Harmonics laminate wood flooring in Brazilian Cherry to do the house

and need some advice as to where the best place is to get matching thresholds and transitions, as we are keeping the tile

in the kitchen and bathrooms. I’ve looked for an Harmonics website to see if they sell any to match, but haven’t been

able to find it. What did you all do?

Harmonics is a product of QuickStep. At first, i thought is was a stand alone

manufacture. In fact, it is made by QS for Costco, but labeled with the “haramonics” name on it.

Nikki, Go to Home Depot, they have a Brazilian Cherry trim and transition strips that

match the Harmonics laminate you purchased. We also purchased the BC at Costco and the trim and transition stips I bought

    at HD look great.

    I just put

the Harmonics laiminate in my house. We are using and seeing some issues with the molding kits we bought at Home Depot.

They match up to the flooring OK but there are problems with the transisitons to carpet and through doorways. For

    example,

    1. If the edges of the new floor are not srtaight (mine are not), making transistions is tricky.

    2. If the change of height between the laiminate and a carpeted area are too much different, the track system

wont be high enough off the subfloor to attach to the molding. Using it w/out the track means you have to glue, nail, or

screw the moldingthe the laminate. It works but it’s not what I exppected.

    3. The kits are $15 each for a 4

foot section. If you have a lot of molding to do it will be costly.

    4. I have a door to another room with a

threshold and vinyl flor that is a real issue. I have to remove the threshold, install the molding to replace it, and

still end up shortening the door.

It took about three days to install the flooring, and I’ve spent about 30

hours now over several days messing with the molding.

The floor looks great! I’m happy with it. I’m just not

good enough with the little details to get the finish work to look the way I want it to.

    By the way, the

molding kits from Home Depot are called “Fastrim” The brazillian cherry is a fair (not perfect)match. The Harmonics

flooring looks much nicer than the trim. Good luck.

I puchased Harmonics flooring @ costco about 2yrs ago. I

installed it in mby basement. the type was Harmonics Royal Cherry. My water softner ruptured and I lost about 300sq ft of

my laminate. Costco now carries Brazilian Cherry not Royal Cherry. There is stiil about 600 sq ft remaining, which is

still in good condition. I hate to replace the whole floor. Where can I find Harmonics Royal Cherry? Thanks for any

    input

So my husband installed the Brazilian Cherry in our home and he did some oops spots. Has anyone else had oops spots in their house. What I went to Home Depot to get some wood putty but it all looked to dark. I was hesitant because I don’t want it to stand out. Any suggestions on how to cover up or find a match for the brazilian cherry flooring?

The handyman installed our laminates so that the ends meet the carpet (vertically). How can I trim this. I can not use the carpet transition piece in this case can I?

    Thank you

    Hi:

We are buying a place that has the Harmonics Brazilian Cheery and would like to extend it to all the bedrooms. How many square feet would 20 cases do & how much is it for each case?

    Thanks,

Here is the official website for Harmonics flooring by Costco. It took a while to find. I ordered the exact match quarter round moldiing for the Royal Mahogany flooring we purchased in April 2008. The website also sells the 4-in-1transition pieces and the staircae bullnose for stairs.

I installed the Harmonics Brazilian Cheery floor in my living room about 3 years ago. It was easy to do and looked great. My twin boys are now 5 years old and the floor didn’t hold up too well.

We purchased our flooring at Costco..thinking it a great deal..but when you go to fing the stairnose and multipupose strips in the same color it was a pain..costco should sell the accesssories to go with the flooring!!!!! We went to 5 different flooring stores and finally found something that would work…but not Ideal

I’m looking for 3 boxes of the older Brazilian Cherry (without the pad).

If anyone has some, I’d be willing to pay more than retail for them. We had a water line rupture and I really don’t want to replace the whole floor.

Anybody have any or an idea on where I can get them?
    Thanks,
    Jeff

I agree Susan. I just called the 1-888-459-9220 number and the 4-in-1 transitions are fairly expensive. They quoted me approximately $40 for 7 feet plus a negotiated UPS rate of $26 for shipping plus a $5 warehouse handling fee. So all in all you’re looking at about $10/foot for transitional molding. I might go the Home Depot route after all for that price.

We installed harmonics laminate flooring about six months ago. We chose the antique hickory. It looks gorgeous but does not wear well. Already there are a few scratches in the surface, sometimes from something as simple as a dried piece of food stuck to a shoe. True, it has a warranty, but who wants to undo all the hard work it was to install the floor in the first place to take out a couple of planks. I’m pretty disappointed that it does wear as well as I thought it would.

Harmonic floors are great, but don’t get the transition strips, they cost about 3 times as much and they are horrible. The strips fall apart and we had to use a hair dryer to soften the tracks before putting them in. We had some transitions strips by Pergo and they went in beautifully, unfortunately, the colors didn’t go well with the antique hickory that we used.

We bought our Harmonics flooring from Costco in 2005 and the entire 275 square feet has failed. All the joints are curling up. My husband is a general contractor and installed the flooring himself. The flooring never had liquid spilled on it and it’s only been cleaned with wet swiffer sheets. Costco has recently quit selling Harmonics and now sells Mohawk Laminate flooring. We have submitted a claim to Harmonics but have yet to hear back from them.
