This underlayment I have used often and recommend highly. It is easy to use, and priced right. The SoftSeal underlayment deadens the sound nicely and does the job with its moisture barrier.

SilentStep Premium Underlayment
The SilentStep Premium Underlayment is quick and easy to install, provides great walking comfort and significantly reduces impact sound. One roll covers 102 square feet.

This laminate flooring underlayment is not cheap. This is an upper end underlayment. At over $70 a roll, this underlayment should be good. This is an underlayment to check out if you are in need of maximum comfort when walking and sound reduction.

Soundbloc Underlay Foam (green)

The Soundbloc Underlay Foam may be one of the most cost efficient sound reducing underlayment. One roll covers 100 square feet of laminate flooring. This is a step up from the Moisturbloc Film that we reviewed earlier.
